With this in mind, we invite you to take time out from your busy schedule, relax momentarily and listen to our “Inspiring Music Selection for Today”.

Today′s selection is from Georges Bizet‘s 1875 opéra comique “Carmen. The term opéra comique has a far more complex meaning than simply “comic opera”.  Originating in the early 18th century Paris, this genre was vaudeville type entertainment that combined humor and satire with song. Instead of being a “comedy” though, Carmen is really a story about a doomed love affair.

The featured aria is a masterpiece lyrical and musical interpretation of the contradiction that is love – by the incomparable Elīna Garanča, who has been captivating audiences in the world’s most prestigious concert halls for years. We hope you envision sunshine, life and love when you listen to this magnificent Habanera.

According to Karl:Here is a beautiful instrumental rendition of La Paloma…a nostalgic version that will transport you back to the halcyon days of your youth…when your life was carefree and exciting…and you embarked on a journey full of dreams and promise…envisioning the world as it should be rather than as it is. Re-living the past through the power of memory and imagination.”
